As you might not remember, I was going for field work in the mountains nearly two weeks ago. Now I am back, and I bring photos!
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Driving a 75hp non-turbo diesel Toyota HiAce loaded with heavy pipes and other equipment does not allow spirited driving. I had trouble getting it above 60 km/h up the hills. Did some slight offroading though.

I think I saw about 10000 on this trip alone. My Uni had two up there.
But then again, it was the best selling van here for 15 years or so.

Used to be popular here, so much that vans were called Hiaces regardless of make. Then it gradually faded away and has been replaced by a rebadged Peugeot/Citroen.

It was selling quite well until the end here, and since they are like cockroaches (and people like them for that) they stick around. My German Freundin was surprised to see that we still had such an old car at the University though.
